SSWC occurs when a susceptible long seam weld is exposed to active corrosion. It corrodes faster than the surrounding pipe material resulting in a narrow V-shaped axial groove along the bond line, posing a greater threat to integrity than general corrosion. These narrow axial features are not well characterized by axial MFL. MDS™ Pro is designed to detect these threats, ensuring the most critical are mitigated.
