Hand-held Creaform laser profilometry is a proven technology that identifies anomalies before they become critical, providing fast, accurate and permanent documentation about corrosion and dent depths on large external pipeline sections.
Creaform works by creating a three-dimensional surface profile as its laser scanners move along the pipeline’s outer surface. The laser scanning system compiles the data to create a contour map that can be analyzed digitally, generating a detailed anomaly profile operators can use to prioritize repairs. Spreadsheets containing the laser scan data can be directly downloaded into pipeline remaining strength (RSTRENG) software.
