The content of this course will cover a detailed introduction of the T-101 Drilling Machine, T-203 or 660/760 Tapping Machines, SHORTSTOPP® 275/500 and SHORTSTOPP® II plugging equipment as well as setting and retrieval of SHORTPLUG™ and THREAD-O-RING™ completion plugs. There will be a mixture of classroom and hands-on instruction throughout the course covering the typical steps for completing a SHORTSTOPP® isolation operation. Special Note: Due to time constraints either the T-203 or the 660 will be used during the hands-on portion of the class. There is not adequate time to thoroughly cover and tap with both machines.
Students will be provided with instruction on design specifications, fitting preparations, equipment maintenance, equipment preparations, set-up and safe operational use of the equipment. Content will also include calculating tapping distance, use of measurement cards, functional leak testing, installation of equipment, purpose and proper use of equalization, flow rate specifications and other mathematical equations to help the student better understand hot tapping and plugging operations while using T.D. Williamson equipment.
