Easy to install and simple to use, the TDW PIG-SIG® IV Passage Indicator detects – and signals – the passage of pigs or spheres at predetermined intervals along a pipeline. That allows operators to know the general location of a pig or sphere and be alerted if it’s lost or stuck.
The PIG-SIG IV indicator is equipped with a trigger that enters the pipeline through a tapped welded fitting and extends along its interior. When the pig or sphere passes, the trigger is tripped, activating a high-visibility signaling mechanism — a flag, electrical indicator, or a combination of the two. Units equipped with an electrical indicator can be wired into a pipeline operator’s supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system and can be monitored in conjunction with other activities on the pipeline.
Designed with ease of maintenance in mind, the PIG-SIG IV is weatherproof, durable, and corrosion-resistant for long service life.
