TDW provides the most comprehensive hot tapping, plugging, pigging, and composite wrap installation instruction available in compliance with Department of Transportation covered tasks standards requirements.

LineMaster training ensures technicians are trained at the highest level attainable. In our state-of-the-art facilities and with a pressurized simulated pipeline, the LineMaster training program is an in-depth series of classes designed to fulfill DOT Pipeline Safety Operator Qualification rules. To meet DOT requirements, training programs must include classroom time, written exams and hands-on performance verifications.

  • Who Should Attend
    TDW recommends that engineers, operators, foremen, trainers and hands-on personnel participate in these classes.
  • Where to Go
    LineMaster training is held in the TDW Technology Center in Tulsa, OKla. A large classroom, hands-on training area and high-quality audiovisual equipment allow the latest training techniques to be taught easily and efficiently.
  • Health & Safety
    Please wear casual clothes and steel-toed shoes. Hard hats, eye protection and ear protection will be provided.
  • All the Facts
    Each participant must cover any other expenses, such as hotel, meals, and transportation to and from Tulsa, etc.
  • Registration
    Make reservations as early as possible. Download and complete the registration form, email the form to TDW or you may call TDW to register. You may cancel your reservations up to 10 business days prior to the training class scheduled date and TDW will refund your tuition less a $225.00 service charge.

2017 LINEMASTER Class Schedule

  • Pigging Technology: The course is designed to provide general knowledge of the basics of pipeline pigging operations, the many different types of pipeline pigs available, how to select the proper pig for specific pigging operations, how to recognize and respond to abnormal operating conditions that may occur during a pigging operation, and how to launch & receive pigs in an operating pipeline. Class schedules are based on 2 days of actual training and testing, with an optional 3rd day for Operator Qualification Certification. Each class will have a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 students from single or multiple registered participants. TDW Pigging Technology Course (2 day) is $1,250.00 per student. NCCER CT-29 & AOC Performance Verification is $225.00 per student Note: if performed during a non-scheduled class, an additional $500.00 will apply.

  • T-101 Drilling Machine Training: Participants will receive in-depth training on the use and maintenance of the T-101 system. Training Fee is $990.00, duration is 2 days.

  • Distribution Equipment Overview: Hot Tapping and Plugging operating instructions, applications and maintenance are covered. Training is conducted on the T-101 Drilling Machine, T-203 Tapping Machine or 660 Tapping Machine, SHORTSTOPP® II, SHORTSTOPP® 500 Plugging machine and SHORTPLUGTM completion plug setting and retrieval is included. Training Fee is $1,980.00, duration is 3 1/2 to 4 days.

  • Transmission Equipment Overview: Hot Tapping and Plugging operating instructions, applications and maintenance are covered. Equipment training for the T-101 Drilling Machine, 660 Tapping Machine, STOPPLE® Plugging Machine and LOCK-O-RING®, and THREAD-O-RINGTM plug setting and retrieval is included. Training Fee is $1,980, duration is 3 1/2 to 4 days.

  • RES-Q® Composite Wrap for Pipelines and Process Pipe: Students will learn the methodology for applying composite materials to damaged pipes in various geometry configurations including straight pipe, elbows, tees, reducers, etc. Basic composite and epoxy handling techniques are taught to help the students work with these materials efficiently and effectively. Training Fee is $925.00, duration is 1 day.

  • Performance Verification: Hot Tapping and Plugging operator qualification through performance evaluation. Includes LINEMASTER written test and observation. A TDW Certification of Completion will be given to those who complete the performance evaluation(s) successfully. We strongly recommend that your Technicians, using their new classroom knowledge, return to the field to gain experience before attempting their OQPV testing. Fee is $1,650.00, duration is 2 days.

    • May 22-26

  • Customer Site Training: Training classes can be conducted at the customer's location tailored specifically for the equipment and applications the customer utilizes. A suitable training facility and training fixtures are required. Fee is $100.00 per student, $2,450.00 per day of training, $2,450.00 per day traveled plus trainer(s) travel expenses.
