1200RC Tapping Machine

The remotely operated TDW Subsea 1200RC tapping machine is used for installing hot taps in water depths of up to 3,000 m (9,842 ft). Featuring an innovative topside-driven design with a passive remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) interface, the machine is compact, lightweight, and allows for hot tapping to be carried out from the comfort and safety of a diving support vessel (DSV) or platform.

In addition to significantly improving safety, the Subsea 1200RC tapping machine enhances operational control and helps operators address many of the challenges commonly associated with subsea pipeline maintenance and emergency interventions.

The machine can be used for a wide range of subsea hot tapping applications, including valve installation, replacement, and removal; riser repair, pipe relocation and re-sectioning; tie-ins, connections, and chemical injection.

Key features:

  • Direct control and visibility from a laptop on the DSV overcomes diver-related problems and enables fast, accurate automated execution.
  • Remote-operation eliminates the need for divers and improves safety.
  • The machine can be used in conjunction with the TDW remote-controlled subsea clamp installation tool (CIT) for the installation of subsea clamps and related products.
  • Built-in sensors allow continuous recording of pressures, temperatures, rotation and movements of the pilot drill and cutter.
