The Spherical 3-WAY™ Tees are full-encirclement, low-profile fittings designed for use with TDW hot tapping and/or SHORTSTOPP® Plugging system. The outlet of these tees can be positioned on the side of the fitting or on the bottom.
The bore of the 4” (DN 100mm) through 12” (DN 300mm) tee is internally grooved to engage the leaves of standard completion plugs. The 2” (DN 50mm) and 3” (DN 80mm) tees are internally threaded to receive completion plugs.
In the 4” through 12” (100mm through 300mm) sizes, reusable bolt-on flange adapters adapt the tee to TDW SHORTCUTT® and SHORTSTOPP® Valves. When used with SHORTSTOPP® Plugging Machines, the maximum recommended working pressure and temperature should be limited to that of the plugging equipment, but not exceeding that of the fitting itself. Sizes 2" and 3" (50mm and 80mm) have a threaded completion plug and cap. Sizes 4" - 12" (100mm - 300mm) have a leaf completion plug and a blind flange. An adapter is available which adapts the fitting to the appropriate size SHORTCUTT® or SHORTSTOPP® II Valve.
All fittings are compatible with most ASME Class 150 applications. With the plugging equipment removed, the maximum working pressure is 285 psi (20 bar) at 100°F (38°C) or 245 psi (17 bar) at 180°F (82°C). Spherical tee bodies 6” (150 mm) through 12” (300mm) are fabricated, and 2”, 3”, and 4” sizes are made from steel casings.
TDW also provides spherical 3-WAY Tees with completion plugs with guide bars. These guide bars block the tapped hole without interrupting flow through the side outlet, keeping the main line piggable.
