The SHORTSTOPP® Welding Fittings are designed for use with the TDW SHORTSTOPP® Plugging Machine system. They are used for main relocations, equipment tie-ins, lateral connections, line extensions, and for making crossovers, all without the need of a temporary bypass and without shutdown. Fittings are available in sizes 1-1/4”, 1-1/2”, 2”, and 3” (DN 32mm, DN38mm, DN50mm, and DN80mm) and in sizes 4” through 12” (DN 100mm - DN 300mm).
The design of the 4” through 12” (DN 100mm - DN 300mm) Type IIA Welding Fitting requires a reusable bolt-on flange adapter which adapts the fitting to TDW SHORTCUTT® and SHORTSTOPP® Valves. When used with SHORTSTOPP® Plugging Machines, the maximum recommended working pressure and temperature should be limited to that of the plugging equipment, but not exceed that of the fitting itself. All fittings are compatible with most ASME Class 150 applications. With the plugging equipment removed, the maximum working pressure is 285 psi (20 bar) at 100°F (38°C) or 245 psi (17 bar) at 180°F (82°C).
TDW also provides the 4-12 weld fitting with a completion plug with guide bars. These guide bars block the tapped hole, keeping the line piggable.
