High Resolution Geometry Inspection
Prioritize geometric pipeline repairs with greater clarity by using TDW's high-precision DEF Tool for locating, sizing and determining orientation of diameter reductions. All arms ride directly on the internal pipe surface rather than behind a cup for increased sensitivity. Minimal changes in the internal wall topography, such as seamless pipe variations are often clearly visible. Pipe expansions are detected with ease due to ability of deformation arms to expand beyond pipe O.D.
Dents measured by DEF Tools provide a level of accuracy that rivals hand measurements taken during expensive excavations. High relolution data from these tools can be analyzed for induced material strain. DEF Tools can also be joined with other technologies to obtain multiple datasets from a single inspection. This technology is currently available in 4" up to 48" diameter.
