TDW customers do not want a tapping machine, a hole saw or a cutter; they just want a specific-sized hole in their pipeline or piping system. Of course, depending on such things as the size of the desired hole, size of the line, line pressure and temperature, and product in the line, a specific combination of tapping machine and cutter will be required.
We at TDW developed the first tapping machine almost 60 years ago, and we have continued to make improvements on it ever since in order to keep pace with ever-increasing industry demands. Today, we offer more than 13 tapping/drilling machine models, as well as a variety of cutters to cover the need for 1/4-inch to 60-inch holes in lines with pressures up to 2,460 psi.
