BASIC FUNCTION:
Provides engineering knowledge, discipline, and project management support to the Point One Group to create unique solutions to customer requirements by application of TDW’s products and services.
Accountabilities:
- Responsible for planning, execution and management of assigned ancillary service projects or departmental projects, including project costs, bids and evaluation, specifications, change orders, material procurement, safety and timely project execution.
- Defines scope of work and gathers internal and sub-contractors’ cost information to develop cost estimate for customer projects.
- Prepares proposal and coordinates with Regional Manager prior to submittal, follow-up and presentation to customer. Leads appropriate teams for project development and implementation.
- Prepares project progress reports, including cost trends, etc., and submits to management in a timely manner.
- Gains a thorough knowledge of all aspects of project management with respect to products, ancillary services, applicable federal, stat and local regulations, applicable codes, design standards, customer relations and field coordination with sub-contractors.
- Periodically assists Engineering with projects as assigned. Provides technical assistance to Customer Services, Manufacturing and subcontract sources, when called upon, providing acceptable solutions within the scope of product/project requirements, such as cost, codes and specifications.
RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS
Reports to the Manager, Point One Group. Works under the direction of the Sr. Project manager to execute projects. Has frequent contact with customers, contractors, suppliers, marketing, sales and manufacturing personnel within North America and International regions. May be called upon for engineering opinion by a member of senior management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- BS degree in Engineering: Mechanical or Civil Engineering degree preferred.
- Eight years’ engineering experience with a minimum of 3 years field experience and 3 years project management experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Knowledgeable of applicable plant and pipeline codes; able to perform advance engineering calculations.
- Good oral and written communication skills; good supervisory skills desired.
- Computer literate with the use of a CAD system. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook at the intermediate level.
- Professional registration desirable.
