BASIC FUNCTION:

To review customer enquiries and to prepare properly costed and considered quotations; to handle customer technical and commercial queries; to support the external sales team; to provide quotation follow-up and post-order support to the Operations Department.

Accountabilities:

  • Assume responsibility for the review and evaluation of customer enquiries and the effective preparation of quotations, including budgetary estimates, firm bids, sealed tenders and pre-qualification notices.
  • To provide technical and commercial support to new and existing customers (including inter-company and local agents / representatives) before, during and after submission of quotations.
  • To exercise due care and diligence in the preparation of costings and quotations, maintain an organized and disciplined approach to document control/record keeping and comply with the requirements of TDW’s Quality Management System.
  • To provide pre and post-order support to other TDW Departments to help ensure a first class customer service in the handling, execution and completion of all in-line inspection Contracts.
  • To be able to provide, in co-operation with the Customer Service Manager and Sales Application Manager, an effective follow-up of quotations; assist with the monitoring and recording of customer/enquiry feedback and to actively pursue any sales opportunities.
  • To liaise effectively with other TDW Departments both internally and inter-company on any issues relating to customer enquiries and subsequent quotations.

RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS

Reports to Customer Service Manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Recognized engineering qualification is preferred (Diploma/HNC qualified or equivalent) and/or relevant experience in an engineering or sales environment
  • Computer/Microsoft Literacy. Must be proficient in the use of current computer and communications technologies – including, but not limited to database spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Good organizational and communication skills and a pleasant telephone manner. 
  • After the initial probationary period, must be able to work with minimum supervision.
