BASIC FUNCTION:
Support internal clients by testing applications, writing and maintaining software manuals and other documentation.
ABILITIES
- Provides technical support to internal program users by testing applications, writing and maintaining software manuals and supporting documentation.
- Communicates issues from software users to Software Engineering team.
- Supports and/or installs software applications.
- Seeks to understand software issues and communicates them to the Software Engineering team.
- Tests, evaluates, and exercises software applications, identifying difficulties, bugs, and ambiguous areas.
- Plans and tracks project progress using project software.
RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS
Reports to Engineering Management (MAGPIE) or a senior engineer. Frequent contact with end users of software.
REQUIRMENTS
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in a related field and 0 - 5 years relevant work experience.
- Ability to identify inefficiencies in software or a process and suggest possible solutions.
- Knowledge of software development cycles.
- Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within Software engineering.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in the use of personal computers Extensive experience with Microsoft Products, including Microsoft Word and Excel at the Intermediate Level.
