Assembler- Salt Lake City, Utah

BASIC FUNCTION:

Assembles components into printed circuit boards and sensor arrays.

ABILITIES

  • Assembles electronic components, including fine pitch SMT, onto printed circuit boards.
  • Assembles sensor components and encapsulates into MFL and DEF sensor cables.
  • Assembles wire harnesses and other test equipment.
  • Uses skills and training to inspect the work of other assemblers.
  • Works with Engineering in the assembly of new PCB’s and Sensor Assemblies. Provides suggestions and feedback to Engineering on processes and fixtures.
  • Identifies and recycles useable components from damaged heads.
  • Verifies assemblies using programs, test equipment and environmental test chambers.
  • Gains knowledge of all Assembly processes so employee can be cross-functional in the department.
  • Maintains clean, orderly work area, ensuring that TDW safety standards are maintained.

RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS

Reports to Manager, Production.  Receives daily direction from Senior Electronics Technician or Senior Assembler as appropriate.  Frequent contact with other Production and Engineering employees.

REQUIRMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience soldering fine pitch SMT components.
  • Previous experience with encapsulating circuits is desirable.
  • Knowledge of ESD precautions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers; Microsoft Word and Excel software at the Basic level.
