BASIC FUNCTION:Applies sound engineering principles to the design of new products and the modification of existing pipeline pigging products.

Accountabilities:

  • Performs value analysis studies on assigned products/projects with the intent of supplying cost effective products for manufacture.
  • Conducts testing, including developing and designing test methods and procedures, and substantiates the test results with proper documentation, ensuring that adequate testing is performed.
  • Gains a thorough knowledge of all aspects of assigned products/projects in regard to applications, applicable codes, design standards and procedures, manufacturing techniques, etc., in order to provide technical assistance in a professional manner when requested.
  • Provides the rough draft for operating manuals and reviews the manuals to ensure all the vital information is accurate and properly stated.
  • Improves technical knowledge by reviewing technical papers/literature and attending appropriate seminars and workshops.
  • Prepares a preliminary Engineering Release or Bulletin after all engineering functions are complete on a project and submits for approval.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • B.S. degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Capable of performing basic engineering calculations.
  • Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Computer literate in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel at the Intermediate level.  Proficient in the use of TDW selected engineering software.
