Pigging assists in properly assessing the need for repair by cleaning the pipeline prior to evaluation and tie-in, helping to improve data capture and accuracy, giving Offshore Pipeline operators the most valuable information possible. Pigging programs enhance pipeline integrity by reducing the unplanned risk of leaks by removing built-up liquids, contaminants, and deposits on the pipe wall.

  • VANTAGE® V cleaning pig – Multi-use pig designed to remove both hard, crust-like and soft, gummy deposits, as well as ferrous materials.
  • PitBoss™ cleaning pig – Removes soft to medium-hard deposits from internal pits, which is essential to improving the effectiveness of corrosion inhibitors.
  • WCK cleaning pig – Removes contaminants and deposits that increase resistance to flow.
  • REDSKIN™ foam pig – Used for light cleaning, one version incorporates a urethane cleaning wrap with bypass groove that effectively removes paraffin and other soft deposits that could lead to corrosion.
  • V-Jet® corrosion inhibitor pig – Sprays corrosion inhibitor onto the hard-to-reach inside top portion of multi-phase gas gathering and transmission lines.
  • OptionAll™ batching pig – Designed for light cleaning, line filling and dewatering, batch separation, and liquid removal.
  • VANTAGE® V batching pig – Multi-use pig used for batching, displacing, and light cleaning.
  • UNISPHERE™ pig  – Provides heavy-duty removal of liquid hydrocarbons and water from pipelines and piping systems.

TDW offers safe, proven hot tapping and plugging (HT&P) solutions for pipeline owners and operators in the Offshore Pipeline market. When operators need to expand their lines, make connections and/or tie-ins, launch new services, or upgrade capacity topside during a planned shutdown, the team of experienced technicians at TDW can help.

The HT&P process incorporates a high pressure pipeline fittingvalvetapping machine, and isolation equipment — all working together to provide a safe and proven isolation solution. Once the area of pipeline that requires work has been safely isolated and evacuated, the line modification can be performed.

The full suite of isolation solutions offered by TDW plays a critical role in this process. The TDW STOPPLE® Train isolation system, for example, uses double block and bleed technology to help increase efficiency and safety during pipeline modification. The system – which is able to create a double block and bleed seal through a single fitting – reduces costs associated with fittings, valves, welding, and inspection services. The bleed port affixed on the line ensures that any product that bypasses the first seal is contained and evacuated through the bleed port.

Whether operators are purchasing equipment to perform their own HT&P jobs or turning to TDW to execute the service for them, they can rely on the company’s broad line of equipment and consumables. Non-intrusive inline isolation technology makes it possible for Offshore Pipeline operators to perform a tie-in on a section of a high-pressure pipeline with minimal interference to the pipeline.

  • SmartPlug® isolation technology – Double block and monitor non-intrusive inline isolation technology from TDW minimizes platform downtime by eliminating or drastically reducing the need to blow down the pipeline segment during repair, minimizing the release of hydrocarbons. This system also makes it possible for hydrostatic testing to take place immediately after isolation, and is tracked, positioned, controlled, and monitored through the SmartTrack™ system.
  • Emergency Pipeline Repair System (EPRS)  – This system consists of products, services, and equipment put in place prior to the occurrence of third-party damage. The EPRS is executed immediately after an incident, swiftly correcting the problem and reducing downtime by months.
