On January 29, 2007, Williamson Industries, Inc. officially became T.D.Williamson Canada ULC. Headquarters for TDW Canada will remain in Georgetown, Ontario with Brian Smith serving as General Manager.

T.D. Williamson Canada ULC - Georgetown, Ontario
Strategically, T.D.Williamson Canada ULC allows TDW to better service customers who own and operate the highly integrated network of North American petroleum pipelines that cross the border between the U.S. and Canada. As the Canadian petroleum industry and the corresponding infrastructure continue to expand around resources such as the Alberta Tar Sands, the broad scope of TDW experience and capabilities are ideally suited to provide industry leading equipment, support services and custom engineered solutions to assure optimum pipeline performance. TDW expertise with water and wastewater pipelines will also prove beneficial to municipal systems across Canada and particularly in the populated eastern Canadian provinces.
The recent blending of 45 years worth of long-term, hands-on experience with Canadian market requirements, together with the full compliment of TDW products, services and custom technical solutions, positions TDW as a very strong North American onshore and offshore pipeline service provider. New TDW Canadian office locations are being finalized for enhanced responsiveness in regions with increasing production activity.
According to Brian Smith, “Our Canadian unit employees provide exceptional customer service and technical skills to help our customers stay on stream. We only serve operators with pipelines or piping systems in Canada but we work closely with Tulsa to ensure that all inquiries are handled appropriately. Our business mix includes products and services for pipelines, gas distribution utilities, hydrocarbon processing, water/sewer and various industrial segments.”
A TDW Canada manufacturing facility in Georgetown, Ontario currently produces SHORTSTOPP®, M-STOPP and STOPPLE® equipment in addition to hot tap fittings, tapping machine adapters, STOPPLE and SHORTSTOPP housings, cutters/pilots and various items requested by Tulsa to expedite order processing.

As the result of emphasis placed on pipeline inspection services and the incorporation of MAGPIE® tools and technologies, TDW Canada has increased market share significantly to become one of the leading MFL/Geometry vendors in the country. Other hot initiatives include turnkey services, hot tapping, and STOPPLE plugging business for both the pipeline and refinery segments. Additional roles that complete the Canadian HT&P package include TDW as project manager, fitting supplier, provider of welding services, quality control, non-destructive testing and HT&P technician.
The Canadian water market is starting to learn about the advantages of TDW products and services. Recently, the Canadian business unit completed the largest tap in Canada with a 57” tap into a reservoir in Windsor, Ontario, just across the river from Detroit. With the AWWA Show in Toronto this year, TDW Canada will be a very strong presence, especially for operators of Canadian water systems.

T.D. Williamson Canada ULC - Edmonton, Alberta
With manufacturing, sales, services and administration located in the Toronto area,
TDW Canada is ideally situated to serve Canada’s two largest gas utilities and the pipeline and HPI business in the Sarnia area. All are within a convenient three hour drive. The regional divide for Canada is pretty straight-forward. Western Canada covers the area from Manitoba west to the Pacific Ocean. Eastern Canada covers the area from Ontario to the Atlantic Ocean.
As far as providing a list of the companies that TDW Canada now serves, it would be much too large to place within this article. It is much easier to simply say that TDW serves all of Canada.
